San Jose, a dark place where the devil didn’t want us ministering. A city under bondage numbed by drugs and alcohol. A city that needs to hear what we’ve been called to proclaim. Going out at night getting to talk to countless homeless crack addicts, alcoholics, and prostitutes giving the message of hope.

Spiritual warfare:

Of course the devil wouldn’t want us giving the message of hope and taking people from his grips. He tried to shut us down with fear and exhaustion from being out there from 10 to 3 am.  I know it’s not a topic talked about much in the church but satan tried send a guy demon possessed to yell curses at us and scare us away the first night. We were walking in the spirt so he didn’t even want to get close to us because he knew who’s work we were doing. We stopped to talk with one lady one seemed open but we quickly learned her heart was so hard, she claimed that she herself was a god. She didn’t want to hear anything we had to say; having watching her walk away. It felt as if satan was laughing, all i could think is she’s walking closer and closer into hell. It really instills a urgency in you to tell no matter the reaction or rejection. These people are going to hell, living lives without any hope turning to anything and everything looking for fulfillment and we have the answer to what fulfills. We have to tell them, if not us then who will?

He tried to discourage us with drunk women mocking us, a couple who didn’t want to hear anything about God and even tried threatening us with a machete.

Satan tried to instill fear in us countless times, but failed.

We sowed what we wanted to reap:

We prepared because we knew this wasn’t a battle of flesh and blood. We spent hours worshiping and praying, we went out with the Lord walking before and beside us.

The harvest:

We had four beds to fill at teen challenge for the guys that wanted to get clean and learn about the Lord. We ended up having to move things around so we could accommodate for eight men that decided that they wanted to go back to teen challenge with us! We got the chance to plant so many seeds.

My team got to share with six immigrants from Venezuela the gospel and they all accepted God!

We got the opportunity to pray for young girls working the street and tell them that this is not Gods will for their lives.

Joshua:

My team and I were driving around looking for prostitutes to ministers to for about 2 hours stopping at brothels. We got the opportunity to pray for a couple that were open to hearing but most were to intoxicated and then didn’t want prayer. But around 2 am when we went to where the transexual prostitutes work the street, praying the Lord would let us even speak to one. Me and a couple others walking down the street met one startling him. From the get go i could tell he was living in so much fear, his name is Joshua, he knew some english and knew who God was. I got to ask him about his family and his life and form a connection with him. He soon opened up and said earlier when he was walking to his corner a couple guys pushed him against a wall and broke his phone. I asked him if i could just pray protection over him, i don’t know if you’ve tried to pray for someone who’s blatantly deep in sin but it’s hard to know what to say. Not wanting to offend to not harden their heart but also speak truth into their lives. The Lord really gave me the words to pray and  then convicted Joshua in a huge way. He completely broke down while i was praying over him. Without me even having to push, he said he didn’t want to live like this any longer. He said he wanted to live as Joshua again!! He asked for a place he could go to get prayer and go to church and we gave him our numbers and set him up. God did what only he can do and it was amazing to witness! praise Jesus for Joshua back in His arms.

Pray Joshua never goes back to His old life and continues to live new in God.

Pray for Hope too and the seeds we planted to flourish.

Thank you if you prayed while we were out!!

Thank you Jesus for showing up these two nights!

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Ephesians 6:13

“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

  1. But God! He doesn’t want one to perish! I’m praying for the ones who walked away, who laughed, who threatened you. Maybe the next Paul. They don’t know what they’re doing. Love you, Mercy!! Can’t wait to hear in person!

  2. Praising God and thanking Him for you and your team and for all you are doing in my country. It means so much and has challenged and convicted me big time. Thank you so much!

  3. Praise Jesus, that is so amazing!! We have been praying. Jesus friend of sinners!! I’m glad! Love you Mercy!
